Diggs, 31 and recovering from a torn ACL, is among the NFL’s most outspoken wideouts whose persona can rub some individuals the improper approach. “Earlier within the week, I used to be talking to an offensive coach. It was talked about that the Patriots offense proper now within the extensive receiver room, principally, you’ll be able to take a look at Diggs, (Kendrick) Bourne, (DeMario) Douglas, (Mack) Hollins, and (Kyle) Williams. After which after that, the opposite three: Javon Baker, Ja’Lynn Polk, and Kayshon Boutte, they’re all type of taking part in for his or her jobs,” Curran mentioned.
“It was identified to me that Stefon Diggs may need been a ache within the ass on the sidelines to quarterbacks, and he may need been a little bit little bit of a prima donna, and he is perhaps laborious to take care of. However no one practices more durable than he does, no one is extra cutthroat when it comes to competitors throughout video games or in apply, and no one is much less reluctant than Stefon Diggs to say one thing if he would not assume efficiency is as much as what it needs to be.
“So I believe it’s going to be very attention-grabbing for these three gamers, as a result of they’re in a sink or swim state of affairs. … They’re both gonna rise with the tide that Diggs will convey with him, or they’re going to drown in it.”
Perry believes Diggs’ presence will convey a way more noticeable sense of urgency to the Patriots’ locker room.
“The roster was what it was, we might acknowledge that, however there simply wasn’t a lot urgency,” Perry mentioned. “All through the group for years now there hasn’t been sufficient urgency, in my view. This can be a man who’s towards the tail finish of his profession, who’s many of the most intense opponents that the league has seen, definitely at his place, in a very long time. So that is the type of jolt I believe that would actually profit them.”
