BOSTON (WHDH) – Crimson Sox Spring coaching acquired underway Tuesday morning, with all the crew’s pitchers and catchers reporting to JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Fort Myers, Florida.
The Crimson Sox improved their pitching workers over the off season with the additions of Ranger Suárez, Sonny Grey, and Johan Oviedo.
The Sox signed free agent Suárez to a $130 million, five-year contract in January. The crew acquired 36-year-old Grey in a commerce with the St. Louis Cardinals, sending that crew righty Richard Fitts and one other prospect. The Crimson Sox acquired Oviedo from the Pittsburg Pirates in a five-player deal that despatched Crimson Sox outfield prospect Jhostynxon Garcia again to the Pirates.
The remainder of the crew will report back to Fort Myers on Sunday.
The Sox will play their first Spring coaching sport on February 20 towards Northeastern College.
You’ll be able to watch the Crimson Sox tackle the Minnesota Twins on 7NEWS on February 28 — the primary of 4 Spring coaching video games set to air on the information station.
